The IPV-PRO&POL project aims to study IPV in approaching it twofold:

Work packages description :

The research project considers the phenomenon of domestic violence between partners and the reaction to it, both in their negative and positive strategic aspects, at the micro, meso and macro levels. IPV will be placed in a-socio-historical approach dealing with the potential transformations of violence, traditionally focused on male to male violence, and recently on gendered violent behaviours. These transformations will also be analysed in relation with the socio-demographic evolution of the Belgian population. Furthermore, an ‘intersectionality approach’ will be adopted, that takes into account the power structure of society, the intersections of the different statuses and the multiple forms of marginality.

The tasks will be shared in 6 work packages. These work packages are not organized according to a distinction based on the various objectives of the project but based on the distinct exploitation of the different sources. Each work package will thus be submitted to the two dimensions of the research questioning (impact & processes and public strategies).
